I learned that there is a population of caribou living in the very north east corner of the state - in the Salmo-Priest Wilderness. Go to Google maps and search for it to see just how remote that is. You have to zoom *way* in before any roads start showing up.

I'm wondering how hard it would be to actually see one. It seems like a worthy quest.
